So while I would agree that the actual aircraft type is not very important for those sitting in the back of the bus, premium offerings tend to be better on wide body aircraft, paying a few extra $$ for longer haul flights is well worth the expense, IMHO.
And I am 6'4" and don't usually book anything other than economy. If you can get extra benefits from one carrier, it certainly can make sense. The buy up is often more than a few extra $$, though. For a date I checked next summer buy up from E- to E+ plus one bag was over $200 per person for DEN-LIH. That said, for those of us who don't fly enough to have status, economy on WN is just as good, if not better than economy anywhere else. If you want more than regular economy, WN is not for you.
