Having high expectations doesn’t mean that level of service will eventuate, particularly in the short-term when someone’s bag is delayed (or ultimately lost).

I’d love to have such service myself if it ever happens to me (*knock on wood*), but realistically expect that it likely won’t be the case. Claiming against insurance will also require the receipts [EDIT] if not just a flat payout for the delayed baggage.

Only way to truly force what you suggest on all airlines would be to have the laws / regulation require it or make it the expectation. MAVCOM would the body to do that for Malaysia.

Best solution, though, would be to ensure no bags get lost...

Hmmm, you’re right. So perhaps reasonable costs would be for necessities from the hotel for 2 or 3 of the days then?
