Next year, my husband and I (both Canadian) have this trip booked: YYZ-WAW-IST-MLE-SIN-DPS-SIN-PVG-YYZ. Our main stops are the Maldives and Bali with the rest being layovers under 24 hrs.
The first leg is Toronto to Maldives which brings us through Istanbul airport for a 2.5 hr layover and or first stamps ever from Turkey.
On our way home from Singapore, we connect through Shanghai with a 10.5 hr layover. We were hoping to head out of the airport for a bit and explore but now I see this might not be possible?
If you don't want to step out of the airport at IST, and in 2.5 hours you won't have time anyway, just don't go through passport control (don't exit, stay airside) and you won't get any stamps.
