The flight leaving at 9:20 p.m. shows I0 X3 - so unless LH is able to convince AC to open up I space (or put us into a revenue booking class - this is extremely unlikely, I know) we'd have to travel in the back of the (Air)bus. I am LH*G and have no clue how much that (and the fact that we're travelling with a child) could help us in case things go south.

Thanks again.
Today at YYZ, Terminal 1, to go from customs to domestic, you take a bus. Its every 15 minutes or so, from one part of the building to another. This doesn't require clearing security again.

There is construction going on to make this route walkable. They have been surprisingly quiet on details or schedule, but I'd expect it to be done by May.

Best case (bus departs right after you board) isn't bad, possibly even faster then what walking will be. Worst case is you are sitting on a not-moving bus for 15 minutes.

As far as the routing to Halifax, if they (that is, the collective entirety of the airline world) mess up during travels, putting you on a different flight, you are entitled to the same cabin as booked, regardless of the then available seats for sale. It is my experience that YYZ-YHZ is upgrade heavy, with many business seats being assigned at the gate; someone rebooked that day would be at the top of the list, above upgrades.

If you wish to change before, then normal class availability applies.
