I am curious to know how the CSR planned to fulfill his promise of a refund. How would the OP reach him to receive the refund? Would anyone else honor the "special offer"? I can't quite imagine what the notation in the records would be. Maybe:
Customer not a jerk. Promised him next-day refund upon request. Please expidite.
