The lack of grandfathering is just another not so smart move by Marriott.

As from September 14, point advance is basically useless for most people (which they are well aware of), they could have just grandfather existing point advance reservations - but decided not to. In the long term it would have been a wash for them. The bad taste it leaves is just another sign of what Marriott have become.
