However, I could add additional stopovers on round-trip Star Alliance flights, or on one-way Singapore-operated flights.
The blogs I read claim the $100 stopover applies to Star Alliance one-way flights too, and they also mention the phone agents are pretty knowledgeable. I don't know if I'm just unlucky and should continue to HUCU, or if the rules have changed and should give up.
For reference, my travel plan was to fly SCL-SFO (stopover), then SFO-HNL. And if it matters, I've been calling the 800-742-3333 number and connecting to the award booking department.
IIRC, stopover for one-way only applies to Singapore airlines only flight. For star alliance awards, it need be round trip.
