I am jealous that you were ABLE to get a first class seat from LHR to CPT in December. My husband and I have been waitlisted since August for that flight (on Dec. 20); we are currently cleared via Jo-burg. We are taking our first RTW trip on OneWorld; this is the only flight we were unable to reserve. It appears to be a very popular route as the yearend holidays approach.

We will fly in from DXB early morning on Dec. 20. Will we be able to check our bags thru from DXB to CPT? And if so, does that make it impossible for us to standby for the nonstop LHR to CPT flight?
