I’d like to out economy and back premium economy if possible, or premium economy both ways. So my plan at present is to fly to a far more competitively priced destination (likely Chicago as the connection timings work out) and book a separately booked redemption AA ticket from ORD-DFW. The savings doing this still work out vastly cheaper than going direct and I’d like the tier points to remain as a silver member (discounting doing a direct redemption to DFW).
Am I therefore correct in saying I’m doing something like this completely at my own risk? With the connections etc not guaranteed? Other suggestions and routings would be welcome. Wedding is over the weekend of the 18th.
This is not a connection, but 2 separate tickets. The risk is all yours. If BA is over 3 hours late you may be able to collect EU261 from BA, but that is all the help you will get.
