Hotels with lounges have, often as not, given me lounge access which includes some kind of lounge-based breakfast. This has happened regularly at two of the HI's in Bangkok, and at the CP.
Resurrecting the breakfast issue, Holiday Inn Heathrow T5 Colnbrook always offer me free breakfast but only on a Reward stay, never a paid stay, and that was as a Platinum.
