Recently completed a 25 night Stay at Novotel Mangga Dua, Jakarta. Stayed here for just one night last year and based on that experience decided to choose this hotel for a longer Stay. Two dated Welcome Amenity photos one from last year and one from this year. Will do a mini review with some more photos but am probably writing the main points here.

Still would highly recommend this hotel judged according to meeting or exceeding its midscale brand standards, Premier Lounge standard, price point in comparison to other Accor Hotels in Jakarta, and connection to an (old) shopping mall but with an ATM Centre and excellent Carrefour Hypermarket. Excellent and very active and reliable Hotel Manager. Main weak point for me is that I am not a fan of combo hotels. Completely understand the economic incentive for owners to operate combo hotels sharing senior management but I have found that managers are spread very thin in these types of hotels, and junior FO staff I met here were not always well trained. The hotel has a very active policy of rotating FO staff between Lobby, PL, Business Centre, and also rotates F&B staff, and staff between the two hotels. Great for staff development but in some ways not ideal for guests needing accurate information. Currently this is a combo Novotel and Ibis Styles but the owner also owns the shopping mall and adjoining Amaris which will be rebranded as an Ibis Budget next year so I wonder if staff resources could be further strained.

By the way, absolutely no mention of FT to me at any Accor hotel in which I have stayed. One FO supervisor in this Novotel recently transferred from Ibis Styles had not even heard of ALL and was very surprised when I introduced her to the ALL website.

Anyway here are the two dated Welcome Amenity photos from this year and last year. I crossed out the name on this year's Welcome Card but it wasn't my name !
