How would I check to see if I had a broken fare?

I just used an RUC for the domestic leg of PVG-LAX-ATL, LAX-PVG open jaw ticket.
As a side note, I got an offer of only $349 to upgrade PVG-LAX from PS to D1.... with the return offer being $3000.... took the $349 offer.

Then called in to apply an RUC for LAX-ATL, no problem, except on dl.com it did not show that I had any upgrade requested. Another quick phone call confirmed the RUC was properly applied and I was on the waitlist.

The RUC upgrade came through a day later.

No mention whatsoever about international, etc not being eligible. LAX-ATL was booked in W comfort +, as the international were G and A for Premium Select.
