Also if you are planning to work, J has the benefit you can leave your laptop etc set up when go to the toilet as can slide the table forward and don't need to worry about others interrupting your work, as they go to/from their seat. J with herringbone offers more screen privacy then PE, particularly if you don't have a privacy filter.
This is the biggest reason for me, also being able to work (i.e. read a document) whilst still being able to eat is useful and really only possible (with a laptop) on the larger J table. I often choose to sleep on the night flight back (SYD-AKL 1910 departure) - still sort of annoying that the NZ bed doesn't lie flat without the drama of converting to a bed. That said, I also find it annoying that they do not carry the sleeping mattress (yes it may only be 90-120mins of sleeping) but i'll take it!
