Oh yes for sure. Especially for the price you pay (and THAT is definitely an Iceland issue...) Ranga seems... average. I can think of several non-self-declared-luxury hotels we stayed at that had a better-looking hard product. We considered Ion but were also woefully unimpressed by the pictures/reviews of the hard product (and the isolated location might be a draw for some but wasn't for us). I was merely saying that outside of Silica/Retreat, we didn't really encounter/see anything I'd call "luxury" outside of Iceland.
