We will use ANA 90k r/t in J from LAX to Japan then either VS or AA miles on to BKK.

You might want to google how to get from BKK to Koh Samui. There is no ferry. Its a long drive or flight down south before you could reach a boat option. Just get a return flight BKK USM BKK.
