Would BA rebook me in Business on a different carrier or perhaps via Tokyo?
I’m off work the 26th so could feasibly travel that day if it came to it.
I’m a UK based Air Traffic Controller, so I get the position of the BA crew and I am sympathetic. However I was really hoping this wouldn’t happen when I was travelling!
Many thanks.
You've paid for your ticket. Just because some of that currency is Avois doesn't mean you haven't paid. Thus you have the same rights as any other passenger.
I'd keep looking in the app for pro-active rebooking options and try to go the day before. Keep checking, keep hassling the airline. If they'll rebook you on JAL then bite it (hard) as it'll be better anyway.
Unfortunately, as your strike date is the second action, it'll be on the back burner for now. Chances are that BA will solve the issue by this date IMHO. Could be wrong, but date #2 is tactical rather than firm.
If the 27th does go ahead and you fly 28th then I hope you miss no games. But you will get there and you will have a great time. Japan is incredible. Enjoy it, try not to fret.
