American has online baggage purchase, but they have certain rules for being able to purchase online.
- American flights only in the itinerary
- Domestic itineraries
- and some other rules.
I was advised that if you do not see a bag offer then something in the itinerary does not meet their criteria. Check with reservations as they will be able to tell you all the restrictions.
