Squaring the circle once again
arriving into Sydney 1455, I was rebooked onto a dash service at 1630 (QF1483 IIRC) in Y
due to single runway ops, delays and cancellations, I was eventually transferred into QF1515 (should have been a 1530 departure, 717 service), initially in Y
I pushed back and explained I was ticketed in J but had accepted a downgrade for timing, which had become a moot point
both services were pushed back, the 1482 initially until 1750 (hence the transfer to the already delayed jet service which was anticipated to arrive earlier)
QF1515 eventually departed at 1851. The times for 1483 have been lost into the ether but I believe it was parked in Canberra long before we arrived
i was initially given SC/points for flex Y. Pushed back and received the appropriate amount for initially ticketed class
so all’s well that ends well. I had about 2 hours sleep on Monday night and am lagged to .... but I feel everything went pretty well considering what a mess Sydney was. Very impressed with QF on the day (unpopular opinion I know 😉
