Technically a new company, but essentially same staff, crews can move on 'new contracts'

Cathay Thailand
Cathay Australia
Cathay Canada

Not difficult.
Do you realize that these airlines are joint ventures with local partners as the majority owner to meet ownership rules?

Cathay won't be able to set up an airline in a foreign country without a local partner holding the majority of shares.
