Read the thread. Marriott doesn't want to encourage contact via email, preferring you use the Marriott app and its message function.
I have never had the message function work to contact someone at the hotels. It seems to go through a centralized service, and have actually had some properties tell me that they have no access.
Rarely are my requests for extra amenities fulfilled when using the app.
I find it easier to make the requests at check in and have them send up whatever I need.
