Saw the following ad on Hulu. This one is not really "generic" (Safeway), but Visa also made one for Wells Fargo. I do know Visa has significantly tested contactless at various Safeway/Albertsons out in the field.


Maybe because of the launch of Apple Card (on the Mastercard network), it is somewhat about trying to tell people about the contactless innovation, but it is likely more about concerns on losing wallet share for spending. I still also only have one Visa with contactless (Chase - upon website request). BofA, Barclays, etc. still are not enabled for me.

When some of the major grocery retailers are not doing contactless (Kroger, Walmart, Dollar Tree), I am unsure if targeting groceries makes the best sense. On a somewhat related note, my KP QR was rejected at a store that had KP advertisements at every register. The manager was also unsure what I was doing scanning the bar code, but the registers just were not upgraded as yet.
