When you call an agent do you have to give them a reason? Say you book basic economy ticket, checked in early but want to take you chances checking in later to possibly get Delta Comfort - as free seats run out that's all that's left
I don’t see why you’d have to. If asked, you can be honest and say you want to see if seats are available when you arrive at the airport kiosk instead.
