Quick opinion check - what's the best property in Dubai if you can spend a fair bit of time on the beach?

Will be for business again in DXB next month; got great company rates in the RC at JBR and the W on the palm. Just wondering which property you guys prefer nowadays?

I have been several times to the RC - whilst I like the property I find it a bit 'snoozerama' and might like to try the W. Is the W actually a good hotel - I only know W's from the States where it was a bit too much of show off instead of being a great hotel?

Or is there any other property you prefer over both? The Le Meridien? I will be there by myself so a bit of a lively bar in the evening would be great, and a good beach. I don't mind using Uber to the office from either JBR or the Palm. I guess there is as usual no right or wrong but just wondering how you rate the W in general (if someone has already been there since opening).

Nota bene: Is it just me or do other hotel chains have better beach properties in the UAE?
