Gooooo team AY IT
I agree with EuroFlash that maybe Finnair should hire IT plants to do the job
HEL-GVA segment:
Again I got the upgrade offer (EUR 200 or AY+ Voucher) and was told the flight was oversold. Was happy to seated in 5C next to my partner in 5A in Y (E190) as we were on different bookings so I declined (= ignored it).
At HEL when checking one bag, I specifically asked the agent to block me for any "involuntary" upgrades from Y to J and she took a note that I was travelling with Cupart 5A.
At boarding (31B I think it was) of-course my bleepin' seat had been changed to J, 1A. By pure chance we were the first at the gate and I said to the agent that I had asked NOT to be upgraded to J at any cost. I got a funny look like: who the hell declines an upgrade, and surprised faces behind me
Short of the long, the agent spent around 5 min correcting the seat allocation and a very happy elderly lady got my upgraded seat in 1A (I know as her friend was across the aisle and I had been given her seat in 5C which I originally had taken).
Off topic, I'd rather be in Y up front on the E190 than having someone next to me in J with full meal and bar service which to me is more of a hassle than anything... J to me means (in Europe at least) a free seat next to me...
