I flew YVR-YUL-LGA the other day. The only option for an evening flight left me with a 55 min connection which apparently is exactly the MCT at YUL. (For some reason the 11:20pm was not shown on the list of flights and when I tried with multi-segment it priced at 900 CAD more…).

YVR-YUL arrived on time. I was off the plane as one of the first passengers, ran/walked all the way, airport pretty empty and not a crazy line-up at secondary security check and immigration. I barely made the connection and the gate closed the minute I got there. Also I doubt any checked luggage would have made it (fortunately I did not have any checked bags).

How/why does AC think 55 minutes is sufficient to make this connection?
