I do not want to sell you anything anything but in cases when FTL status is not recheable the credit card is IMO the cheapest way. It costs around 50 € if you take the non gold version. I would estimate that the rebooking fee is at least the same amount but you have to book your award in 1Q/2005. With the card you can wait until you really know when and where you want to fly.
