I was outside this place a couple of days ago while we were at Chiringuito Blue, which is bang in front of it on the beach and owned by the same person as the W. It aint opening this month that's for sure. There is a lot of work going on, with people literally everywhere including a sizeable crane still on site, and even though it looks like its the final stages the sheer scale of what is going on looks like they probably will get partially open next month, but then you have to ask is it really worth it. It probably is to get it off the ground this year and people through the door before the season ends but it is such a shame they've missed the peak period.

When it does finally open if they get the staff right (always tricky in Ibiza...) it could be a real addition to the group and to Ibiza. I think being in Santa Eulalia, and it's right at the south end on the beach, is a benefit as its away from the mayhem but close enough if you want to partake. I've been coming to Ibiza for years, staying literally everywhere on the island, but you wont catch me staying in Playa den Bossa (even though all my mates did for an event we attended last month), and definitely not San An.

In three visits this year, which would have seen at least a couple of stays at the W, two have been at 7 Pines and on at Nobu.
