Post #71 was on point, it's easy for someone out of touch to blame the parents, and claim they would fly their imaginary children on a private jet with a full-time caretaker. But that's simply not reality.
I didn't say that I would fly my imaginary children on a private jet. What I said was based upon how I was raised, which I would contend was anything but special, if I thought my children were in danger or I was concerned about their safety I'd do something more proactive then wait for some lackey from the airlines to call me back. I was raised in the 70s well before the days of a cellphone, email, video communicating (which most 8 year olds today know the technology) and Google. My parents might have been forced to wait for some flunky to call them back, today's parents could be in touch with local authorities within 5 minutes.
