Exactly. And being in China likely makes it even worse, as most luxury hotels in China are stipulated to have a certain proportion of Chinese nationals employed as staff—making employee and service training even more challenging.
Give it 6-12 months after opening before ever staying in a new build hotel, especially in China—at least if you expect to have any semblance of what the brand is supposed to offer.
