What do you propose? That we discontinue all flights worldwide until we're sure that flying is 110% safe? What's your point? Stuff happens. And yes, the Trent 1000 is known to have engine blade deterioration problems.

I've flown the 787 with the GE GEnx engine. It's the best plane I've ever flown - and I've flown a lot of aircraft types. It just happens that the Rolls engine has a lot of problems. Compared to 35 years ago when I started flying, the Rolls engine is much more reliable than engines back then. If you're looking for 110% reliability, that's not happening any time soon. We're at 99.99999999999999999999999% reliability which is acceptable to almost everyone today.
