I'm always paying extra for comfort, first class or an exit row, just for the room. I'll still use my regular Amex Platinum for seat change reimbursement but an extra seat both ways will cover the extra fee imposed. And the chance of receiving medallion points for annual spend is a benefit I'm interested in.
However, I'm still on the fence about upgrading, as I've read so many articles about Delta/Amex refreshing these cards that maybe there may be a better incentive in the very near future for current cardholders.
Can you use the companion pass to book an extra empty seat?
I know you could book for a friend who doesn't show up, but that seat could be given away.
