I think you've identified the only available avenues. The only thing I'd add, which you probably already know, is that you can be MQD exempt if you spend $25k/year (or $250k/year for Diamond) on a Delta Amex. Other than that, you're stuck with domestic US flights on Delta since you can't fly internationally on partners.
DM is tough at $250k but PM can be achieved by spending $25k on a DL Gold/Platinum AMEX card between now and 12/31. And you don’t have to get on a plane. Or open up a bank account in Canada.
