It could have been an Ibis red, re flagged as a Styles ( without any / much effort ) to enhance the room rates.

The new Ibis red refurbishment designs look more expensive than a rebrand to the Styles ( being funkey and all that ) I have seen this type of decision before made by cost conscious management ....
