I guess there is no real explanation. If I didn't have the Delta miles I'd have pushed VA harder, but honestly since AF shows the same availability as VA I doubt I would make much progress.
We will have to add this one to our list of unexplainable Delta things...like Z space on KL, where a Premium Select domestic connecting segment falls on the UG list, etc.
I wish it was explainable! And more easily understandable and transparent. Safe travels - that's funny that you're transiting a third continent to get to the US around the holidays - only on FT!
