Air Canada has a Comfort Class pricing option for a coach that includes a free alcoholic drink. It is the 2nd most expensive option for a coach ticket.

On my flight the flight attendant said there was no indication of me and my travel partner being supposed to get the free drink. To add insult to injury, AC also lost my checked baggage on a direct from YVR-PVR.

We then complained to AC via Twitter and finally they added something to our profile, and on the return leg there was a free drink.

Friends of ours just took the same flight today and had the same problem - the crew have no idea that there is supposed to be a free drink. We normally fly AC J class, but it is not always possible and I at least want what I have been told I should be included in my ticket.

I know this is something minor, but it is a matter of principle. Is this a common problem?
