In that case, the correct approach is to reduce the size limit, not to impose an unreasonably low weight limit in order to have an indirect effect upon size.

Me too. My 56x45x25cm Rimowa is usually around 15kg when fully packed. AY didn't weigh it on any of my 4 recent flights. But AY's weight limit still created uncertainty that I would not have suffered on BA or U2.
On a positive note, I would say that AY, particularly for LHR-HEL, impressed me much more than BA and made me realise how behind the curve BA is in many respects. Despite the weight uncertainty, I would consider AY for several routes that I would not have considered previously.
