I guess most people at Europe always have a pin enabled on the credit cards, but AFAIK this is not nearly as common on other places. I had to pay with a debit card.
OT ever since the massive changeover to chip cards about 10 years ago, all European cards must use a pin to validate the transaction (as opposed to signing like the US). However, both credit and debit cards had pins in case you needed to withdraw money at an atm.
