2000 BC points mean buying train tickets worth 2000 EUR. Since you get the points on the first day of validity and you can return normal fare tickets up to a year after the beginning of validity (for a 15 EUR fee per ticket) you can calculate how many tickets you need to buy and return after you receive the bonus card, so you earn the status. It is not free but you can actually get the status without actually riding the train...
