One pair are blocked until check in, which I understand is typically about whether they are needed for passengers with mobility issues. Online check in opens 24 hours before departure, so it may be allocated then. I'd try NZ again by phone, get it noted on your booking, and then try again 24 hours before departure if you can, if not then all you can try is to arrive when check in opens and plead for someone to be moved.
