FYI, the minimum taxi charge for rides originating at LAX is $19, even if it's around the block. So, the cabbie might not mind, but it's not cheap. Uber /Lyft also have an LAX origination charge, so the rate would be near $8 for that quick ride.

Your comment on the RED Hotel shuttle is certainly the least expensive, and likely also the quickest, given the apparent Midway location at Homewood Suites (6151 W Century Blvd).
