BA Unicorn?

Having been a long-time lurker (and very infrequent poster on this forum) I observe that you tend to see certain perceptions oft repeated about BA.

Well today, I think I might have been on a ‘BA unicorn’ - a flight that dispels all of these. I was in the very fortunate (and very rare for me) position of being in First on a long haul flight due to a business class fare being not much more than economy and some well-used Avios to upgrade, but experienced the following:
  • On-time departure, with boarding strictly in group order
  • No judgement of me based on how I looked (jeans, very casual) and a friendly escort to my seat
  • No shortage of LPGS and two top-ups before we even left the gate
  • A plane that was clean and in good condition
  • Cabin crew who were warm, friendly and couldn’t have done more to make my flight special
  • First feeling like the best cabin in the world due to the ambience and service, rather than ‘the best business class product’ - even on a 777
  • A steak that was cooked perfectly to ‘medium’, warm and juicy on the inside
  • Some good sleep, with no galley noise and considerate and quiet fellow passengers
  • A cabin crew member who was genuinely over the moon and gave me a big hug when I gave her a Golden Ticket for amazing, warm and friendly service
  • Landing and disembarking ahead of schedule despite being caught up in the LHR systems failure today
  • A lasting feeling that BA is doing this better than any other airline
Am I very easily pleased / lucky or have others experienced such BA unicorns (if this forum is to be believed)?
