It looks like theres a comp for Aeroplan members. . However I wouldn't really worry about it. SPG gold is the most worthless elite status I have ever used, I have never been recognized as being gold and because of that will never go out of my way to stay in a Starwood property.

Basically it gets you 50% bonus points , so I guess thats a bonus.
