We didn't have much time so didn't really push it once the manager said it was chargeable.
Pleased to hear it sounds like a mistake, whilst removing access wouldn't prevent me staying it is a great feature of the property. We stayed the previous night at the Doubletree on points (multiple cruises departing Sunday meant all hotels were sold out or silly money!), one night there sure put the Hilton in perspective!!
Thanks, good to note (that it may be a very recent change)...however, I did note previously that the spa was removed from the letter they give out at check in but haven't had a problem using it as a diamond in the meantime. I have seen a lot of new staff at the check in desks lately (last 2 months) so imagine there is still some training / learning to be done regarding diamond privileges and so I'd just ask at the spa along the lines of 'diamonds can still use the spa for free right?' type of question...where they will know and can give a better answer. I know it is a pain to not be consistent throughout the hotel and to have to ask at the spa itself instead but this is the best way to be sure...
I'm not scheduled to be back here for a few weeks now so can't get confirmation or learn about any change for a while but hope the above helps.
Safe travels.
