To test this hypothesis, we'd need to find properties going back down in point rate after joining the chain. Unfortunately, the giant point devaluation seems to mask every other consideration. So it's easier to come up with examples of the opposite type. Here's one -- DoubleTree Trabzon made a
debut in this thread last year, and was then priced at 10K HH points (immediately after the renovation and rebranding). It now sells for triple of that amount.
