Note that poster left out 30K RDM boosts that come with the MQM boosts. The example is a little extreme. I would say putting $10K on the Amex Reserve ($187 in expense) to reach the second 15K MQM/RDM Reserve Boost could easily be justified (especially if it gets you to Plat).
