IAD has the charm of the onward connections to the US on United, the arrival at 1pm is just enough to catch the afternoon wave out of ZRH, although it will miss the morning India/MEast/Africa flights. The slots/gates for the 4-5pm departures must not be available.

KIX seems to be completely O&D, it has nothing in terms of connections what NRT doesn't.
