To be objectively fair and to give them the benefit of doubt/unfamiliarity, CPT boarding queues can be an absolute zoo. Many times I've seen people in the Group 3/4/5 line believing they are in the Group 1/2 queue.
I guess it's a circumstance of the boarding corridor width.
That sounds like that awful Gate 5 arrangement, which seems designed to make life difficult!
