I’ve stayed at the DT for years. Always had good luck. While I haven’t been there in a couple of years, the rooms had been redone. They are a reasonably good size.
They have a śhuttle. Used it a few times. When I arrived late and there was no shuttle operating (after midnight), they paid for the taxi. Had to call hotel first from airport.
Oonly problem I ever had was when I discovered the room door didn’t lock. They couldn’t fix it quickly because it was a Saturday. Changed rooms and got several thousand extra thousand points.
The other thing that can happen is slow check in, at times. Difficult when it’s midnight you’ve walked off a transcontinental flight. Air crew use the hotel and people tend to arrive at the same time due to flight schedules.
I always got upgrades when I was gold and free breakfast (not continental). Staff have always been great. Have stayed in many hotels in the area over the years and this was the best value. Although, down the road the Renaissance (Marriott) overlooks a pretty golf course.
Quiet is important to me. I learned to ask for a room facing the parking lot and at the extreme east end of the building. Apologies but can’t remember if those are high or low numbers. There is occasional air traffic noise but when AC or fan is on, not an issue.
Property has an outdoor pool. There was free parking. They started to charge for parking in the surface area. Last time I was there garage parking was free. They share the garage with Mattel and it can get crowded if you come back late evening. However, doesn’t sound like you have a car. And, of course, the cookies.
Should you be there in December, Mattel does a tent sale. I see lots of people showing up for the bargains .
