1. You should never assume that you will get lie-flat seat on TPE-HKG. Aircraft rotation happens frequently. I'm not sure if MLE gets guaranteed lie-flat seat and will let others comment.
2. BR in general will not check-through on separate tickets, although you might get lucky.
