Westin Timeshare Deal Data Points?
I got an email recently for a Westin timeshare stay. It's similar to ones I've received in the past but I've never done it. This offer is 5 days/4 nights Westin Cancun, free breakfast and evening cocktails daily, plus 15k MR points or $75 hotel credit, in exchange for sitting through a two hour timeshare presentation. Has anyone done one of these ? They say elite benefits "may" not be recognized and it seems the nights don't count toward status. Wondering if anyone has had experience with these. Did the stay/nights count for status? Did you get any elite benefits?

Cancellations - Cancellations must be made in writing within 15 days of package purchase date or package purchase price is not refundable. A refund will be issued within 15 days of receipt of notice of cancellation. Cancellation notices must be sent to Westin Vacation Club cancellations, 9002 San Marco Court, Orlando, FL 32819.
Breakfast & Cocktails - Daily breakfast includes an American-style buffet for two adults. Breakfast is served daily from 7AM to 11:30AM local time. Nightly cocktails and hors d’oeuvres includes a pre-selected variety of canapés, cocktails, beer and wine (no substitutions) for two adults. Times vary, please visit the Concierge Desk upon arrival for details. Breakfast Buffet and Nightly Cocktail are not redeemable for cash, nontransferable and cannot be exchanged for other goods or services.
Marriott Bonvoy Points - If selected, points will be issued during the preview and sales presentation. Allow 4-6 weeks for posting of points. Redemption of points is subject to the Marriott Bonvoy program terms and conditions, which are subject to change without notice. Terms and conditions can be viewed at marriottbonvoy.com. Approximate retail value is $187.50.
Resort Certificate - If selected, Resort Certificate will be issued during the preview and sales presentation. Retail value of Resort Certificate is face value and is redeemable for spa services, dining, shopping or activities. Applicable sales taxes and gratuities not included. Resort Certificate is not redeemable for cash and is not transferable.
Room Reservations - Room reservations must be made at least 60 days in advance and are on a space-available basis. Availability is limited. Holiday and special-event periods are excluded. Do not purchase airfare until your arrival dates are confirmed. Accommodations are for a maximum of two adults and up to two children under the age of 18 at The Westin Resort & Spa, Cancún. Accommodations will be in a Royal Beach Club Room with a king-size bed or two double beds. Each additional person for breakfast or cocktails will be charged $45 plus tax, per night. Stay must be consecutive nights. After scheduling room reservations, an e-mail confirmation will be sent to you and must be presented at check-in. Once reservations are made, any changes or revisions are subject to a $75 nonrefundable fee. Purchase price must be paid using a major credit card. A credit card is also required at check-in. Reschedule requests within 45 days of arrival will forfeit package and package price. You may also incur other incidental fees that are not included in your package cost, such as telephone charges, transportation, meals, tickets, taxes, tips, housekeeping and other charges of a personal nature if you request these services. Retail value is based on high-season rates.
